I can relate to this story in so many ways with the relationship I have with my mother. The fear of the "unknown" is always a challenge and knowing that our bodies are deteriorating on a daily basis just adds to the anxiety as we are not in control of the situation anymore. It's difficult to ask for help especially when pride gets in the way where we try to fix problems where our limitations make menial tasks impossible. Thanks for the reminder that we are never alone and that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Who knows, the tables may turn later on in life.

Wow! What a powerful story, it brought tears to my eyes. Compassion equals communion, thanks for sharing, Mark.
